My Mother's Baking Bowl - Ever the Practical One!

Mum arrived up to visit just after my first chemo session. She brought a gift - a baking bowl!

I thought it a bit random. But, I did like to bake occasionally and was always saying how I must get a proper one with the 'lip' on the edge for pouring mixtures. She looked as me with a totally vacant expression on her face! ''Oh that's not a baking bowl Serena, it's a vomit bowl!" She continued to say, "that black basin you have is too big and ugly looking beside the bed! This will look nicer for when people visit you! And it's low enough that you can slide it under the bed to hide it!"

I laughed so hard, I cried! Then when I thought I'd finished laughing, the innocent and still very vacant look on her face, made me laugh even more! Laughter really is the best medicine!

Thanks mum! Love you! Xx

A Cup of Tea, or Ten!

Coco's cafe in Salthill is one of my favourite coffee shops. Being blessed with the best sisters-in-law in the world, the next day they brought me out for a cuppa. It was great to get out of the house again. And of course, there is little that a good cup of tea can't help!
Yes - there are SEVEN tea pots on the table! And that was round 2, or maybe 3!
